Newton PAC-500 System
Waterproofing And Protection Against Radon (And Other Gases)
This unique solution ensures that the basement will be waterproofed and gas controlled by trained professionals, as a package. The Newton PAC system can be installed to both new and existing projects, domestic and commercial.
The Newton PAC “Positive Air Curtain” 500 System is a combined basement waterproofing and ground gas mitigation system which successfully controls both water and gas levels within below ground/retaining structures.
This patented system combines the Newton System 500 Cavity Drain waterproofing system, installed by our Newton Specialist Basement Contractor Network, with a positive pressure air delivery system, installed by Prestige Air Technology.
The Newton Specialist Basement Contractor undertaking the work guarantees both the design and installation of the system and these can be further underwritten by an independent insurance scheme. Prestige Air provide integrity testing for the gas resistance of the installed membranes.
Provides protection against:
- Radon Gas
- Methane Gas
- Hydrocarbons and Carbon Dioxide
- Petroleum and Diesel contaminated soils
- Water ingress.
The system includes a durable membrane Newton 508, that doubles as a drainage membrane and void former to allow for throughput of the air pressure created by the Air Curtain. Newton 508, and its associated jointing and sealing products, have third party testing accreditation for radon permeability.
The system can be installed in clearly defined stages depending upon the levels of ground gas identified or expected . The ability to upgrade the system dependent upon post installation testing makes the PAC system highly cost effective – one that can be tailored to each individual circumstance.

Newton 107F is a two-component, cementitious, polymer-rich coating for the waterproofing and protection of concrete and masonry. Capable of withstanding heads of water pressure to 10 bar, both positively and negatively, Newton 107F is ideally suited to the waterproofing of:
- Water tanks
- Podium decks
- Flat roofs
It is especially capable where the structure has both masonry and concrete elements, where differential movement is expected, due to its elastic properties.
When mixed, Newton 107F is thixotropic to enable ease of application by brush or airless spray, providing an even finish with no sagging and excellent adhesion to prepared concrete and masonry substrates, even in vertical situations.
Newton 107F hydrates to form a durable, highly alkaline, permanently elastomeric coating which not only protects the concrete or other substrates from water penetration and carbon dioxide diffusion, but also accommodates movement in cracks and at movement joints. It is non-hazardous and ideally suited for application in confined spaces.
Newton 107F is reinforced over static joints and at details and changes of direction with Newton 912-RT. For horizontal movement joints use Newton 106 FlexProof-NV and for vertical movement joints, Newton 106 FlexProof-X1.
Newton 107F is ideal for waterproofing:
- Podium decks, flat roofs, terraces and balconies
- Water-retaining structures such as water tanks and reservoirs
- Earth-retaining foundation walls to both the positive and negative side
- Internal concrete surfaces of walls and rafts or slabs to earth-retained structures such as habitable basements, car parks, plant rooms and lift-pits
“Having carried out a series of Radon monitoring it was established that we had levels up to 5000bqm within our basement of our home. In addition to this our basement was also damp. After failing to get levels down to acceptable levels by using a standard type retrospective sump, Prestige Air and Protectahome jointly installed the Newton PAC system for both Radon and waterproofing. We now enjoy a dry basement with levels of Radon less than 100bqm.”
